Founding Consulting Manager (Paris)
In Europe our consulting service lines at Avineon Tensing are evolving into a full‑service Geospatial & AI consultancy, combining our own solutions with partner technologies from Esri, Microsoft, Safe Software and others.
Avineon Tensing is therefore sharpening its focus in France by running two complementary service lines:
Consulting (and Professional Services)
Engineering & Spatial Intelligence
To accelerate this transition, we need a leader who will convert market traction into repeatable value, including Data Orchestration, GIS and AI-enabled offerings.
This role is based in Paris, so we are looking for someone who is local, who already lives in or around Paris (Île-de-France). Given the frequent office visits and meetings with prospects and customers, the commute should be less than one hour.
Why this role exists
You will be responsible for scaling and leading the Paris-based consulting practice. You will build on our initial team to accelerate the business development momentum already in motion. You will do this with a bias for action, turning what works into a sales playbook, converting opportunities into new clients, and orchestrating the operational side of this scaling up.
You will also work closely with our Engineering and Spatial Intelligence leadership in Montpellier – the centre of gravity for our 2D/3D expertise – to ensure seamless cross-selling and delivery.
What you’ll do
You will own the French consulting P&L. This includes the business development pipeline, bookings, gross margin, utilization and customer satisfaction. Our EU Finance team will support you on this, including our Finance Controller in France.
Your primary focus is to hunt & capture: drive new‑logo pursuits in Greater Paris; progress opportunities through public‑sector frameworks and enterprise procurement; close deals. You will work together on this with our existing Business Manager. You will report directly to the Managing Director Europe.
You will position and sell the full consulting portfolio:
AI‑enabled propositions
This includes our own in‑house GeoAI/data‑orchestration accelerators and partner solutions that provide clear value and measurable outcomes.
Data Orchestration (Safe Software/FME)
Delivering data integration and automation with reusable pipelines through project‑based delivery and staff augmentation to scale client capacity.
GIS Consulting (Esri/ArcGIS)
Supporting clients with discovery and roadmaps, platform implementations/migrations, solution delivery and optimizations through professional services, and secondment/staff augmentation for client teams.
Your secondary focus is:
Field‑manage consultants: staff engagements, safeguard utilization/quality, coach consultants on client outcomes.
Partnering: create joint offers and co‑sell (for instance with Esri France and Safe Software); develop local partnerships with System Integrators that strengthen delivery and growth.
What you’ll bring
Must‑haves
Startup/scale-up experience in GIS/IT consulting in France, thriving in constraints and urgency.
Established network within the French industry from a GIS/IT consulting angle.
Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams to achieve goals.
Healthy curiosity and the drive to help customers move forward.
Credibility around decision makers and in formal proposals.
Comfort positioning data and AI solutions within the geospatial niche.
Enterprise dealmaking experience on frameworks and procurement.
Fluent French (native‑level) and professional English.
Nice-to-haves
ArcGIS / FME solution selling experience (incl. data-orchestration and GeoAI scenarios)
What we offer
A mandate to build, sell, and deliver our full Geospatial Intelligence and AI consulting portfolio within a clear P&L and growth runway.
Plenty of freedom and ownership, in an environment with minimal bureaucracy and a strong focus on getting things done.
Contract with a competitive country-specific compensation (right to work in France required). More details at the offer stage.
Paris based with occasional travel to Montpellier and Utrecht (the Netherlands).
Success indicators
Consulting P&L tracking to plan (revenue, gross margin, utilization).
Pipeline coverage at a sufficient level for quarterly booking targets.
New logo wins across enterprise / public-sector.
Playbook v1.0 published and adopted.
Stable delivery and repeat clients.
Application procedure
Apply by submitting your CV and a short motivation letter. The process starts with a telephone screening with our corporate recruiter, Salomé. This is followed by an interview at our office to get to know each other better. A second interview may take place to further explore the mutual fit. When both sides feel confident about the match, we will be happy to make you an offer.
